After months of anticipation, Vikky Varuns debut director Kaalapathar finally celebrates his digital debut. The film, which was released in the cinemas in September 2025 and received decent reviews, did not land immediate streaming deal. However, it is now ready to come in Ott, whereby his digital debut is planned for tomorrow.

More about Kaalapathar
The film was written by Rama Rama Re director D. Satya Prakash in the film in the leading role of Dhanya Ramkumar, TS Nagabharana, Achyuth Kumar, Sampath and Rajesh Nataranga. The film was produced by Bhuvan Suresh and Nagaraju Billinakote and shows Anoop Seelin’s music and Sandep Kumar’s cinematography.
Interestingly, Vikky Varun was not the original choice of leading or leading Kaalapathar. The film was initially designed with another team. But the pandemic changed everything. Vikky, who had previously worked together with industry stages like Yogaraj Bhat and Duniya Suri, took over the reins and made the project to his directorial debut.
Kalapathar follows the story of Shankara (played by Vikky Varun), an army man who is with the kitchen obligation and is waiting for his moment to shine. This dream becomes true when he heroically stops a terrorist infiltration on Kargil -Diven. The hero law brings him the national recognition, and in his hometown the villagers decide to honor him with a statue.
But in an unexpected turn, Shankara begins to feel physically what the statue experiences – be they heat, rain or cold. When he deals with this mysterious connection, the boundaries between physical and spiritual blurring. And when plans arise to remove the statue, Shankara – this time not an enemy – must fight – but for the symbol of his own identity.
